For Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor (Part Number: OEM18049803)

Joe, Basically your thermostat controls the temps needed to keep the refrigerator cold. If the fan runs in the freezer and the condenser fan is running and there is not a defrost issue blocking air movement then the thermostat is really all there is. Make sure the return air vents to the freezer are free of ice. WP2204605

Hello Dennis, the manufacturer does not supply a resistance reading table. As long as you have a reading it should be good but the best test would be a voltage test on the red and white wire to ground. If the voltage is present and the fan doesn't come on then you will need to replace it. Hope this helps!

Ando, Unless you have the wrong part, or someone dismantled the evaporator fan motor, that can't happen. The fan is a 115 VAC motor, and will only turn in one direction regardless of polarity. Repost your question with a model number, so we can verify you have the proper parts and check the wiring diagram if needed

Hello E. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the control board. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
