Jeff November 27, 2020 for Model Number KDTM404ESS3 The pump filter, part #W11084156, jammed into the pump motor and broke, which resulted in only a humming sound when machine was powered up. Waited 3 weeks or so for new pump filter to arrive, and when I put it in I could not see why the same thing wouldn't happen again. The pump filter does not securely lock into place, and is kind of loose under the housing. This makes me wonder if there is a missing part? The exploded view shows the 'volute' and the 'ring', which are in place, and also the 'spring', which is not present. Does the spring act to keep the pump filter in place?

The spring W10772270 is going to be a spring washer (wave washer) that would sit in front of the filter against the housing. The spring will help to keep the filter in place. Read More...
