Gary October 26, 2011 for Model Number maytag mdg9700awm Is there a therma fuse or is it the hi thermostat? If there is one where is it located!
1 Answer Hello Gary. Yes, the thermal fuse WP33001762 is located on the blower housing assembly. If you look under the drum, on the blower wheel housing, you will see the thermal fuse. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Rich B. October 04, 2011 for Model Number MDG3000AWA Maytag Neptune Wehn I start the dryer sometimes the igniter will not start the flame. I ohmed out the coils and they are ok. The ignighter reads 65 ohms. The thermal fuse reads 0 ohms. Which part or parts do you recommend I replace? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello Rich. It sounds like the coils 279834 may be breaking down and causing the dryer not to relite. If everything else is good and the flame lites, but goes out and won't relite,, you will need to replace the coils. Hope this helps. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Jose. If your thermal fuse blows out, your unit will not come on at all. If it did blow, you will want to fix what ever caused the thermal fuse to blow before you replace the fuse again. Thanks! Read More...
