The Rear Oven Door Glass is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. This glass panel is installed on the inside of the oven door and is essential for providing a heat-resistant viewing window, allowing users to monitor the cooking process without opening the door. Measuring about 20 inches by 10 inches, this quality glass keeps heat in the oven and provides a clear view for easy baking.

Symptoms of a bad Rear Oven Door Glass include:

  • Cracks or chips in the glass,
  • Visible streaks or fogging between glass layers that can't be cleaned,
  • A loose fit that may cause heat to escape or the glass to rattle during oven use.

Causes of rear oven door glass damage typically include thermal stress from high heat, impact from closing the door too forcefully, or accidental bumps with pots or pans.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Rear Oven Door Glass (Part Number: OEM18028161)

Dave for Model Number GBS307PDS9

I replaced the inner glass on my Whirlpool oven door. I then put the middleglass in the top slots . I now have the outer glass to put in. I put the bottom retainer over the bottom of the middleglass and layed the the outer glass over the middleglass with the top resting on top of the slots holding the middleglass. I then fastened the second retainer to hold the middleglass retainer and the outer glass. Is there anything to hold the top of the outerglass? It doesn' fit into the Heat shield ?

Hello Dave! From the diagram it seems that the door handle WP4448854 holds the upper portion of the outer glass to the oven door. Hope this helps!

Hello Dave. To remove the door, open the door to the broil position. Don't use the handle to remove the door, grab hold of the door itself. Lift slightly and with your hands pull out on the door...the lifting gets the hinges out of the keepers and pulling out will dislodge the door hinges from their holders. Hope this helps.

Hello Trish. As long as it is just the glass that is broken, you should'nt need to replace anything else. You should be able to reuse the existing hardware. Hope this helps.
