Gregorio R. June 01, 2015 for Model Number DWU7400AAX Prior to dis assembly I did not take close attention of the O Ring location. So not sure if it goes on the inside of the inner door panel or on the outside. It does not seem obvious from the blow up diagram.
1 Answer Gregorio, Both the grommet for the detergent door latch and the WP99002003 "O" ring for the dispenser are both mounted to the inside of the inner door panel. You nay want to apply a thin coat of sealer on the flat portion of the latch grommet to insure a good water tight seal around the latch. Read More...
1 Answer Mike. The most likely cause for the units dispenser not opening on its own would be the wax motor. You will want to check to make sure that you check to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the wax motor when the unit is calling for the dispenser to open. If it gets power then the wax motor is bad and would need to be replaced. The part number for the wax motor is WP902899. Read More...
Jim August 31, 2013 for Model Number Maytag DWU9200 The latch to hold the soap dispenser door closed will not move over enough to lock the lid closed. Do I need a Grommet and latch kit? Any other cause for this latch problem? Thanks, Jim
1 Answer Jim, The latch and grommet assembly should work for getting the door to latch properly. Also check to make sure that the wax motor is not faulty. Read More...
John S February 23, 2012 for Model Number DWU8860AAX I am replacing the grommett and latch (Part #AP4264467). I have removed the panel and door and removed 2 motors, however, a plastic bracket is still in-place, and I cannot gain access to replace grommett & latch. It looks like 2 screws need to be removed to remove the plastic bracket. Is this correct? These screws are hard to access & are rusted, so I don't want to damge them trying to remove them if I don't need to. Can you comment?
1 Answer Hello John. The plastic part does have to come off by removing the two 1/4 inch head screws in order to install the grommet and latch W10131752. Hope this helps! Read More...
