Daniel N July 17, 2015 for Model Number Model: MEDX655DW Hi I work at a medical clinic in the city, and we are wanting to hook up a dryer in our basement. The basement has a three phase 208V box that the dryer would be hooked up to - no 240V here at this location. I will have a 240V dryer purchased and installed, I am wondering if I exchange the heating element from 240V to the 208V, if that will increase the efficiency of the dryer hooked up to the 208V power supply? Usually in a commercial setting, a commercial dryer is used - which come made for hookup to 208V. We are a small practice, and do not need an expensive commercial dryer.
1 Answer Daniel, A 240v dryer will not work on a 3 phase 208 system properly. Even if it is a 208/120 v system the dryer will not operate at a proper temp and would not allow the clothing to dry in a suitable time frame. As for the heater being changed it would not be adequate to do this if the unit has a thermistor in it due to not heating the dryer properly. Also the safety thermostats are rated for certain ranges which would make a difference. You would want to try to locate a dryer that is 208v that will work for your needs. Read More...

Rick O. November 30, 2011 for Model Number LDE412 I replaced the heating element in my dryer, now it seems like it is getting too hot. Clothes are wrinkled, and extremely hot also.
1 Answer Hello Rick. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Hope this helps. Read More...
