This ice container (ice bin) stores ice made by the icemaker and interfaces with the dispenser drive to deliver cubes or crushed ice. Replacing a cracked or worn bin restores dependable ice storage and dispensing performance.

  • Holds finished ice and guides it to the dispenser chute
  • Engages the drive to move ice out when the dispenser is activated
  • A cracked, warped, or stripped bin can cause no/slow ice dispensing or jams
  • Damage may prevent the bin from seating fully or allow ice to spill/frost up
What's included: 1 ice container Install notes:
  • Unplug the refrigerator or switch off power at the breaker before servicing
  • Remove the old bin, clear any clumped ice, and seat the new bin so the rear drive interface engages—do not force
  • Restore power and allow the icemaker to produce ice before testing dispensing

For Whirlpool Ice Container (Ice Bin) (Part Number: OEM18714525)

Marsha for Model Number 106.51133210

Our refrigerator/freezer is 10 years old. Today the ice maker stopped working. We checked our manual about possible causes. It is turned on. A large amount of ice has not been recently removed. Water pressure is fine. The water filter is installed correctly. My husband wonders if the problem is with the sensor that is out from the freezer wall when the ice bucket is removed but then is closed when the ice bucket is returned to its position. Thank you for any help.

Hello Marsha, thanks for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com This could be a number of different thing such as a bad icemaker, wiring inside of the door itself, or the ice level sensor. Further testing utilizing the tech sheet for this model will be needed to narrow the issue down.
