This top burner igniter is a genuine Whirlpool part, sold individually. This top burner igniter can be used as a replacement part in a gas range. This part fits into the surface burner orifice holder to connect to the spark module such that the gas can be turned on to heat up the burner.A top burner igniter might have to be replaced at some point in the lifespan of a gas range. A top burner igniter can be subject to damage if the connection between the igniter and the spark module is severed or is malfunctioning. The primary symptom of a malfunctioning top burner igniter is a gas burner that will not start or ignite properly. If this occurs, the top burner igniter should be removed and replaced with this genuine OEM replacement part before using that burner of the gas range again. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This top burner igniter is compatible with the following appliance brands: Whirlpool, Amana, Jenn Air, KitchenAid, Ikea, and Maytag.

Hello Douglas, If none of the burners spark when turned on you will need to order WP74010753. If the others spark but the one does not you will need to order the ignitor harness W10173438. If it actually is sparking but not lighting you will need to use a safety pin or small paper clip to run through the orifice to clear it and no parts would be necessary to correct the issue.
