Dave July 30, 2014 for Model Number MGRH752BDW Oven takes a long time to light and sounds like a jet engine when it finally does. We have also noticed a LP smell when it is on. Would a new valve / regulator assembly fix my problem?
1 Answer Hello Dave. Test for 3.0-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
John July 28, 2014 for Model Number MGRH752BDB My oven does not heat up properly low gas flow, the broiler and stovetop all works fine, I have checked the burner for obstruction and the orifice is not clogged, what could be my problem?
1 Answer John, With the unit having low gas flow to the bake burner, it sounds like the valve is not opening all the way and you would want to replace the oven safety valve 12002227. Read More...

Texan July 07, 2013 for Model Number MGS5770ADW My oven burner burns with large yellow flames - looks like too much LP Air shutter and burner look OK - Suspect the hood, orifice AP4098478 74007573 with the oven valve is not metering properly (range is 10 years old, this just started recently after things were working fine previously, vibration, banging things around in the drawer ?) Top burners and broiler work correctly. I was going to change the oven valve and hood for the oven burner, does this kit contain the LP Hood AP4098478/7400573 for LP, or do I need to buy that separately ? Thanks for any help.
1 Answer Hello Texan. You will need to adjust for LP, but it does sound like you are on the right track there. Read More...
Fred November 12, 2012 for Model Number mgrs770ada The top broiler will fire up but when I push the bake button the oven will not ignite.
1 Answer Hello Fred. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Kappy May 02, 2011 for Model Number MGR5751BDW Hello, Is the gas valve/regulator part number AP4008707 a replacement for natural gas? It is not a propane conversion valve correct? Thank You
1 Answer Hello Kappy. It is a LP conversion kit, but the valve is set for natural, and can be adjusted for LP. If you install it like it is, then it will work for natural gas. Hope this helps. Read More...
