Lisa November 15, 2012 for Model Number KIP 5692 3181305 Hello There, Re: Cook Top Buttons by Whirlpool. I have a Kitchen Aid Gas Cook Top. Model # KIP 5692. Part# 3181305. When I entered the part number 3181305 to search for the product, it come up as the Whirlpool Button, Model# AP 2926435. Then, before ordering, I used your compatibility tool (which is a great option for customers, by the way!) it comes up that these buttons from the Whirlpool Gas Cook Top Model# AP 292435 with the part # 3181305 are NOT compatible with my KitchenAid Gas Cook Top Model # KIP 5692 with the part # 3181305, yet, in the Q&A another customer with the SAME Model# and Product# as me asked if these knobs were compatible or not and your answer was YES, being that Whirlpool manufactures KitchenAid appliances, amongst others. PLEASE clarify if these buttons are or are not compatible, as I would like to orders them immediately. Thanking you, Lisa Michigan, USA
1 Answer Hello Lisa, I am sorry for the confusion. I think part of the confusion here is KIP 5692 is not a model number for your range. That is the "mold" number stamped into the back of the knob itself. The "model number" is your specific appliance model number on the serial tag of your appliance. Every appliance has a tag somewhere with the model and serial numbers. That is the information needed to obtain the correct parts. The "Compatibility Tool" only works if you input the correct model number. Entering KIP 5692 would not yield the correct results. There is a link on our website "How to Find a Model Number" directly under the box where you enter your Model number. If you could provide the model number of your appliance I can confirm if this knob is correct or not. Hope this helps to clear up the confusion. Thanks! Read More...
