Whirlpool knob, This issue would most likely be caused by a timer skirt issue in which it is not grabbing the shaft of the timer. Unfortunately the skirt has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available.

AA8rv, With the issue that you are having it sounds like the gears in the timer are bad and would need to replace the timer. This will require getting the knob off either by getting ahold of the shaft with pliers and turning it off or breaking it off somehow.

Theresa, If the timer is sticking at certain points of the cycle then yes the timer would need to be replaced.

Hi Jake. The timer knob you need is part # W10807860. The video does correctly show how to hold the inner shaft tab out of the back of the timer area so the knob is pulled off correctly. We have an excellent return policy in case you need to use it. Thank You.

Hello Florence! The timer knob W10807860 is the top portion of the knob. The dial has the arrow you are speaking of, part number WP3957841. Both will need to be replaced at the same time, per the manufacturer. Thanks!
