Whirlpool Knob November 04, 2017 for Model Number LL9245BQ1 My whirlpool washer knob isn’t working. I’m not able to choose a cycle. The knob is a metal threaded knob. I have it and the skirt removed. If I use vice scripts to hold the shaft, then I am able to choose a cycle.... just not with the knob on and pressed in. Is the problem really my knob? Is it the gears? Do I need to use some wd40? Thanks for any help
1 Answer Whirlpool knob, This issue would most likely be caused by a timer skirt issue in which it is not grabbing the shaft of the timer. Unfortunately the skirt has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available. Read More...

Aa8rv March 06, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore model 110.20972991 The timer knob when pushed in doesn't engage to turn the timer dial and guard to the appropriate washer setting. The timer knob when pushed in will not unscrew counterclockwise for replacement. It only spins.
1 Answer AA8rv, With the issue that you are having it sounds like the gears in the timer are bad and would need to replace the timer. This will require getting the knob off either by getting ahold of the shaft with pliers and turning it off or breaking it off somehow. Read More...

Jake February 09, 2012 for Model Number ap3956258; 3957821 Our 20+ year old roper washer's knob broke off. I watched the video to change the knob. Do I still hold onto the timer thing w/the needle nose pliers to get the broken knob piece off? Does it unscrew or just pull off. I hope this new knob fits and that I don't have to get a new timer. Thanks.
1 Answer Hi Jake. The timer knob you need is part # W10807860. The video does correctly show how to hold the inner shaft tab out of the back of the timer area so the knob is pulled off correctly. We have an excellent return policy in case you need to use it. Thank You. Read More...
