Deanna March 05, 2014 We have a electronic Control panel and F1 keeps popping up periodically and the oven shuts off. This only happened every once in a while. I also noticed if anything on the controls was touched while cooking the temperature in the oven would not stay steady it would drop. Now this past week the oven gave the F1 code shut off then we unplugged plugged back in and F1 again.. repeated multiple times and the same thing. Does this mean its just the control panel or multiple issues? Please help!
1 Answer Hello Deanna. The F1 error code is a board failure. The electronic control will need to be replaced. We would need your model number to provide part information. Read More...
Robert November 14, 2013 for Model Number Wirlpool WFG114SWQ0 I've replaced 3 of the control panels for this range in the last 2 years and I'm going on my 4th. Any ideas what could be contributing to the high failure rate? Right before the oven gets to the set temperature, it shows F2 and the alarm keeps beeping. We have to unplug it and then plug it back in. Sometime we unplug it a half dozen time before we can use the oven. Sometimes that wont even work. My wife is trying to find a new range with no electronic control panel because of this issue.
Matthew November 04, 2013 for Model Number WFG231LVS1 My range has a green display. All of my other whirlpool appliances display in blue. Can I change the display color or do I have to replace the entire control unit with one that has a blue display? If so which one do I order?

1 Answer Hello Kenny. Shorted key for F2. 1. Verify failure, if not displayed. Go to the diagnostics screen and clear the error code by pressing the START key. 2. Unplug range or disconnect power longer than 30 seconds. 3. Plug in range or reconnect power. 4. Observe for longer than 1 minute. 5. If failure remains, go to Step 6. 6. Unplug range or disconnect power. 7. Replace control. 8. Replace all parts and panels before operating. 9. Plug in range or reconnect power. 10. Verify operation is normal. Tom August 09, 2012 for Model Number WFG114SVQ I recently ordered and received a new control panel #W10312660. Upon trying to install it, I noticed that the new contact points to receive the existing wiring harness did not match up. The new panel is exact to my old one except for this. Does this mean that the wiring harness has been changed? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Tom, No it doesn't mean the wiring harness was changed. It could be the terminal location on the control board were rearranged, The replacement part has been "substituted" by the manufacturer. Eric D January 04, 2012 for Model Number wfg231lvs I used the oven once and after it baked the control shutdown and now i getting nothing on the panel no power not even the time.
1 Answer Hello Eric. Test the thermal fuse at the control panel and make sure it is good. If not, replace the fuse. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
