Abcutie115@Aol.Com December 07, 2012 for Model Number ED5FHEXSB02 The flap on ice dispencer doesn't close I was told its your lever arm. How do I take off the front door cover over water dispencer. I have been pushing up and down on door cover withy no luck. Any ideas how I can get cover off without breaking it.
1 Answer Hello Abcutie, To remove the front cover of the dispenser assembly, pull out drip tray. At the bottom of the dispenser front there are 2 grooves. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the left side and pull out on cover. This will pop the left side loose. Then slide the screwdriver under the other side and pop it loose. Lift up on the cover and it will come off. You may want to check the hooks that hold the dispenser door pin in place to make sure that they are not broken. If broken you will need to install kit number 8201756 to repair. Read More...

Richard June 21, 2011 for Model Number ED5GHEXNL00 The part I'm unable to remove (not the main housing) is listed below, you have to take it out to install the new ice lever. Bracket, Part Number: AP2988571
1 Answer Hello Richard. The manufacture does not offer instructions on removing this part. It looks like there is two screws holding it in place. Once the screws are removed, it should pull out of the dispenser assembly. Hope this helps. Read More...
Richard June 21, 2011 for Model Number ED5GHEXNL00 It's not the ice lever I'm concerned with, it's the main housing that needs to be removed after taking out the retaining screws, this piece does not want to come out. It acts as if there's something holding it in place by the bottom right screw as your facing the refrigerator. Thanks again, Richard
1 Answer Hello Richard. You can not remove the main housing. It is made into the door. Hope this helps. Read More...
