Todd H. Has any one compared the hinge attachment on the metal lid to the glass one to see if they are identical on the bolt pattern and attachment. Thanks Todd H

Danny D.S.Sr. April 20, 2013 for Model Number W10349235 Why is Whirlpool not relalcing theses lids at no cost to the buyers. I have already relplace the lid once?Since I now no it is a defective item, I will be talking to a lawyer about filling a class action suit against Whirlpool unless they issue a recall on the product and repalace it. They are knowingley ripeing off the consumer. Are they going to replace these lides or not?

Andrea March 25, 2013 for Model Number wtw7800xw0 Like Dennis, I too would like to know if the metal lid can be used to replace this glass lid. A new glass lid is way too expensive with no guarantee that it won't do exactly the same as the last one since no effort has been made to reinforce this part and make it more durable. I find it interesting that the more durable metal lid assembly is half the price of the cheaply made plastic one.

1 Answer Michael, If the hinge assembly WP8572974,WPW10305276 are not loose or bent, you will need to replace the loading lid WPW10349235 since glass doesn't warp much, it would be delaminating from the metal frame, or the frame is bent, and can't be repaired. Read More...
