For Whirlpool Control Board (Part Number: OEM18049812)

Greg, You will want to check the ribbon harness that connects to the main board. Check for corrosion and if this checks ok then would most likely be a faulty control board.

Hello Mike, You will need to pull the tech sheet by raising the main top and retrieving it from the plastic zip lock baggy affixed to the inside of the front panel. Use this to pull the fault codes from the control. This will point you in the correct direction for a proper diagnosis.

Asif, With the unit overfilling with water then this sounds like it would be caused by a pressure switch whiich is part of the board.

Macfadzen, The most probable issue is the user interface board and encoder assembly. A model number would have been a big help, We could supply the part number you may need, as well as some appropriate test information to help pinpoint the problem. You can find the tech data sheet taped to the inside of the washer cabinet, on the front panel(if it hasn't been removed or lost) and can program the control and review the error codes, and test the washer components to get a better idea of what is wrong, and what direction to take. You can also re post your question, with a model number and we'll be happy to supply the information needed. Thanks,

Keaton for Model Number MTW6600TB0

My Maytag Bravos MTW660TB0 will no longer respond to any button I push on the control panel. If it power cycle the machine, then hold down the pause/cancel button for a few seconds, then hit the Power button, I regain control, but the washer is still not functioning properly. I pushed and held the pause/cancel button to abort the cycle and drain the water, but it doesn't work. With the water in the bottom of the tub, I was able to set it to "spin", The cycle seemed to start, the lock lid function activated, and the aggitator spun slowly back and forth very, but the countdown timer did not move. I walked away for a few minutes and came back to a completely full washer (water to the top), and the code on the display was 5d (suds detected), but this doesn't make sense because there are no suds and we only use Tide HE detergent. Is there a way to confirm that the logic board has an issue before I purchase a new one and replace it? Might this issue be something other than the control / logic board? The logic board is about a $300 part (W10130544), so I would like to try to make certain before I buy it, and I would like to purchase a new one from some place where I can return it if it is not the issue. Thanks!

Pat with the unit having no lights coming on then you will want to check the ribbon harness from the console to the control board is fully seated with no corrosion. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be a faulty user interface which is part number WP8564290.

Hello Jim, This units' tech sheet does not show that the control has to be programmed but a diagnostic test mode should reset everything to factory default but if the programming has been lost. If there is still a problem, the issue is most likely a connection issue or a failed control board WPW10189966.
