  • Helps stop rattling, squealing, or grinding noises caused by a failing motor
  • Helps reduce long dry times and overheating caused by restricted or weak airflow
What's included:
  • One blower motor
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repairs
  • Installation typically requires removing the dryer front or rear panel and accessing the blower housing
  • Inspect the blower wheel and housing for lint or damage while replacing the motor

Shawn for Model Number JGS9900CDS

This is a follow-up question to my earlier question. I've made some headway and checked for power to the fan: From the schematic White is Line; Red is Lo; Black is Hi and Green is Ground. I have power constantly on Red/White (Lo). This is true whether the fan is turned on Lo, Hi or Off from the panel. I have power on Black/White (Hi) only when the fan is turned on Hi from the panel. Does this sound like a bad downdraft power control board? Would there be any harm in removing the Red connection and having my fan work only on Hi?

1 Answer

Hello Shawn. Yes, it sounds like the board is bad. You can disconnect the red and tape it off, but you would not have a LO to use then.

Hello Jason, It would be more likely that the downdraft power control board 12001694 received damage from a short. This circuit needs to be tested with a test meter to determine the failure but the board is more susceptible to damage from high current flow.
