Adolia E June 11, 2013 for Model Number LEQ9030PQO Is there a way to convert this dryer to side venting? It does not have a punch out on the side to vent just the back vent. Is there a kit?
1 Answer Adolia, There is not a side vent kit but there are dryer vent periscope for offsets. This is a flat vent so that you can push up against the wall and be able to run ducting. For between 18-29" offset you would want 4396011RP, for 0-18 inch offset you would want part number 4396037RP and for 29 -50" offset part number 4396014. Read More...
Larry July 30, 2011 for Model Number MDG6800AWW All the lint is bypassing the screen and plugs the vent leading to the outside. If I put a nylon on the exhaust vent the nylon fills up with lint. The dryer will work like this for a few days. The lint screen has no holes in it and everything seems to fit tight. What is the problem?
1 Answer Larry, The lint filter does not collect 100% of the lint from the clothes, they never have, there is always a minimal amount of lint expelled through the exhaust vent system and to the outside environment. Very new and very old natural fibers(cotton) seems to produce more lint than expected. Your exhaust vent system should be checked, cleaned and repaired once a year. Good Luck Read More...
Jen April 23, 2011 for Model Number Maytag MDE3500AYW I've run a cycle without the unit connected to the exhaust vent. It didn't seem to help. The vent tubing is clear from obstructions as far as I can tell. What to do next? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Jen. You will need to check the temperature of the dryer while it is running. Use a multi-meter with temperature TJMA-DMT3 and test at the back of the dryer where it vents out. Set the unit on high heat. It should cycle between 100° on the low side and 165° on the high side. If the unit is not cycling properly, you may have a bad cycling thermostat. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jen April 22, 2011 for Model Number MDE3500AYW My dryer isn't working the way it used to. It takes too long for clothes to dry. I've cleaned out the lint from the outside vent, from the lint trap, taken the dryer apart to the blower fan and cleaned out all the lint, which wasn't very much. It still isn't working well. What else can I do? Thank you for any help.
1 Answer Hi Jen. You will want to run a cycle without the unit connected the exhaust vent. If it operates normal when not connected, you will want to make sure the vent tubing is clear from any obstruction. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jen April 20, 2011 for Model Number Maytag dryer mde3500ayw How do I remove the old duct assembly, outlet? I've removed the bulk head and want to get to the blower fan but cannot figure out how to get the old duct assembly removed.
1 Answer Hello Jen. If you remove the screws holding the front tumbler assembly on the dryer, the duct assembly will come off with the front tumbler assembly. This will give you access to the blower wheel. Hope this helps. Read More...
