Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Dryer Motor Pulley (Part Number: OEM18022821)

1 Answer

Ryan, If you are not grabbing the motor shaft and then turning the pulley then it will not come off and just spin. You will want to grip the motor shaft to hold it still. If the pulley is spinning on the shaft then then you will need to break off the rest of the pulley and check the threading on the motor to see if it is damage. If damaged then the motor would need to be replaced.

John for Model Number SDG3606AWW

The metal pulley somehow split in half off of the motor causing the belt to rip. I am looking to buy solely the pulley for this dyrer yet it only is available with a new motor. My motor works fine is there anyway to rig/retrofit this with a different pulley and some spacers? The nut im talking about is opposite the blower side of the motor and is part of the belt drive. The belt goes around the drum, around this metal nut/glide on the motor and then around the tensioner. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello John, You can try ordering part number WP8066184. This is supposed to be the same pulley and if I'm not mistaken, it presses on instead of being threaded. AP3890688
