Joe July 26, 2011 for Model Number LDE5700 My rear drum felt appears to be very worn and in part it has strips that have dryed and split off. It is still all around the drum and hasn't broken yet should we not use the dryer till it is replaced. We hear a noise as the drum goes around like a loose chain or something is dragging could that be the cause of the noise?
1 Answer Hi Joe. If you think it is safe to use the drum without further tearing the seal, that is your call. The sound you hear can be either from something caught under the baffles, or the rear drum support bearing. The felt seal is part # 279408. Check the rest of any moving parts to see if the noise is comming from them once you open the unit. Make sure you clean the inside of the dryer and vent system inside and out. Also check the vent hood/ cap assembly outside for proper operation. Thank you. Read More...
Scott H. April 02, 2011 for Model Number LEC784DQ0 It appears as if the rear drum seal on my dryer is wearing away. I believe this is part number AP3094149. Is this something that I can do myself or do I need to call a technician?
1 Answer Hello Scott! The rear drum felt should be pretty easy to install, it seems it just glues on with the adhesive in the kit. Your part number is 279408. Thanks! Read More...
