Julie May 04, 2021 for Model Number 9758010 75801 My dryer is very old and when I add the model number it says there is no part. It is a Kenmore Heavy Duty 80 Series Soft Heat Extra Capacity with Lint alert. Is there a rear drum felt that I can purchase to stop the black streaks in my clothes? Thanks
Jlim October 05, 2020 for Model Number KGYE760WWH1 Dear Support, I have a KitchenAid Model No. KGYE760WWH1 gas dryer. About 60" long x 1/8" wide strip (it's felt material on one side and black color material on the other side) came loose from the rear of the drum. On my dryer, this strip was visible all the way around the inside of the dryer. When I watched the repair video for AP3094149, it doesn't look like the seal strip will be visible from the inside after it has been installed. Can you confirm whether AP3094149 is the correct part for my dryer? Thank you.
1 Answer JLIM, the rear drum felt seal 279408 would be used with the model number provided. Read More...
John June 28, 2019 for Model Number LE7800X5W3 The seal does not fit. It looks like it was made for a smaller drum. No instructions came with the seal. The only number is 280114 on the bag the seal came in. Did you send me the correct seal? If I need to stretch the seal, please tell me how to do that without damaging it.
1 Answer John, unfortunately, the drum seal 279408, MFG # 279408, would be for your model as it is 79 1/2" in length. If you could contact our customer service at 1-877-477-7278, we would gladly assist you. Read More...
Dryer Fixer December 05, 2017 for Model Number KGYE670BWH3 What kind of chemical would I use to remove the old adhesive from the rear edge before I glue the new one on. The surface is very bumpy where the metal is folded over and sanding doesn't remove it all. I dug a lot of it off.
1 Answer Dryer fixer, To remove adhesive you could use something like goo gone to remove it. There is nothing really specific other than something like that. Read More...
Peter January 26, 2014 for Model Number KEYE677BWH2 My dryer is leaving black "skid" marks on my clothes, and it looks like that rear felt padding has seen better days. I want to be sure I'm ordering the correct part. The repair looks pretty straight forward, and, thanks very much for the video explaining how to take the machine apart properly. That's a really good thing. Is there anything else that could be doing this, and or, should I get any other parts as a recommended repair/ maintenance?? Thank you for your time, -Peter
1 Answer Hello Peter. You need to order and replace part number W11035878 and 279408 on the unit to repair it. Read More...
Laura P. April 03, 2013 for Model Number LER6611LQ0 I have a Whirlpool dryer - the seal has become deteriorated and partially loose from the rear of the drum. First of all, this seal is visible all the way around. When watching the repair video it doesn't look like the seal will be visible from the inside after it has been installed. He uses the adhesive to apply it to the outside of the drum. I ordered the Felt Seal and in the description it reads "Dryer rear felt seal. Includes adhesive." What is the difference between the Rear Drum Felt Seal and the Felt Seal I ordered besides the amount of money? The two seals look almost the same. Before we tear into this thing, I was wondering if we have the right part in hand. I did use my model number to search for the part and did review the isometric drawing in my manual but it wasn't very clear.
1 Answer Laura, There is not a difference in the felt seals other than one of the parts comes with the adhesive and the other doesn't. Read More...

Jeff November 17, 2012 I have a Kenmore Washer/Dryer stacked combo. The tag reads Type 143-00 Model/Stock No. 98573120. I need to find the rear drum felt and perhaps any rollers that may support the drum, but I get so many results to my search. How can I narrow it down?
1 Answer Hello Jeff, The reason you were having problems is the full model number isn't listed here. If you look again at the model number I.D. tag, you will notice three more numbers before the numbers you listed. These are part of the model number also, even though they are not in the same typeset. I guessed at the number as 110.98573120 which would make your unit a Whirlpool built unit. The part numbers I looked up for it are 279735 for the Rear Drum Seal kit, (this is a kit because it comes with the adhesive to install it with), and 349241T for the Drum Roller Support Kit. The second is a kit because it comes with both rollers and the clip. Read More...
Patrick March 03, 2012 for Model Number DGL203W Why is my dryer leaving black marks on my white clothes? Its doesnt make any noise. The clothes are getting stuck in behind the gasket on the right side and leaves a black mark ?
1 Answer Hi Patrick. In order to repair the front and rear drum seal part # LA-1008, correctly you also need to "square-up" the drum as it meets the rear bulkhead and the front inner panel assy. The rear drum sets on rollers and if the rollers and roller shafts are worn, it will create slop that wear out the front and rear drum felt part # WP31001637. The front of the drum uses drum glides to roll against part # WP31001470 Front left tower post uses felt pad part # WP31001356 and the rt. side uses the part # LA-1006. You will need to allow the glue to set for 24 hrs before you use the dryer. Thank You. -- Read More...
Ujd100 September 17, 2011 for Model Number Magic Chef Gas Dryer I ordered the red thread felt thinking it was the best fit for my dryer, but it was larger in diameter. Can I shorten it and restitch it and use it? The old seal was all felt with no stiches and was thicker in grade. I don't know if I got the wrong part or not. I don't mind a looser seal if it does not cause a noise or energy problem.
1 Answer Hello Ujd1400. No, you will need to locate the model number and order the correct seal for the dryer. Hope this helps. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
