Patricia July 04, 2020 for Model Number Kenmore Freezer 106.8222040 Trying to diagnose why freezer will not cool. Compressor kicks on briefly (a few seconds) and then drops off. There is continuity among all wiring terminals on the compressor. There is no continuity from any of the terminals to ground. Suspect relay/overload may be the problem. Removed relay. It rattles when shaken and makes and breaks continuity when tipped back and forth. Does that indicate relay failure? If we need to replace the relay (part number 989662) and overload (part number 549041), your website suggests part number 3119970. The picture does not look like the parts we are replacing. Is this the correct part for the freezer? Thank you for your help.
1 Answer Patricia, The overload and relay would be the most likely cause for the unit stopping and would need to be replaced. This overload and relay 819099 would be the correct part for your unit. Read More...

Theodore November 30, 2017 for Model Number EHT201VKNR0 I find it odd that my model (EHT201VKNR0) cannot be found anywhere. However, the motor relay (989661) shorted out and burned up. Is this just signs of wear & tear that normally happens to this relay and why it the design of it has been changed, or would this indicate a sign of some other malfunction?
