Dale March 30, 2017 for Model Number Whirlpool EHT201MKNR1 If I replace my existing part 989662 with replacement part 819099, will it mount on the existing 3 pins/posts on the side of the compressor unit? I ask because on of my pins has been damaged (relay became an arc welder)
1 Answer Hello Dale, If the pins on the compressor have been burned, you will need to use sandpaper to clean them up. If they cannot make good contact, the relay will not get good connection and will burn up the relay. If they cannot be cleaned up good enough for proper continuity, the compressor will need to be replaced. To answer the original question, yes, the new components will have to be connected to the pins on the side of the compressor. Read More...

Dan D June 09, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore 1067697310 Does part # 819099 now replace both 989662 and 549041? My relay (# 989662) is bad. Appears both relay (#989662) and overload (#549o41) are now both incorporated in part # 819099. Is this correct? Is # 819099 the correct part for my model?
Mark July 28, 2014 for Model Number ED25PQXYW01 Unit stopped cooling, compressor would not come on. Replaced cold control thermostat (part no 2188202), still not cooling, compressor wont come on. Replaced overload relay assembly (part no 819099), it clicked when power was turned on. I noticed it was not connected properly so I changed it. It then allowed the compressor to come on (at least it sounded like it was running) but it still will not cool. Is it possible that I damaged the part and it caused the "click", I assume not since the compressor seemed to be running after the correction. The other thing I noticed is that the compressor was pretty warm before I replaced any parts. The coils were dirty and I cleaned them. Can someone offer any help in resolving this problem? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Mark. No, it is not damaged or the compressor would not run. It sounds like you have a sealed system failure and will need an HVAC tech to repair the unit. Read More...

This has happened in the past but don't know what the problem was please advise me as what is the problem I replaced thermostat this time but it has not ceased the problem.
1 Answer P. Estes, You will want to check the unit for a good seal around the gasket as this may cause the unit to continuously run. Also if the unit is in a hot environment it will run longer as well. Read More...
Mike De September 12, 2013 for Model Number AP3119970 Does this relay need to be mounted on compressor with any particuliar orientation. By this I mean is there a up and down position for the relay with respect to the compressor or will it operate no matter how it is mounted. Also is the adhesive that came with the realy just to glue relay to compressor or is it used to make contact for the temp of the compressor. I have installed relay and overload but haven't glued it to compressor yet. Thanks, Mike
1 Answer Hello Mike. It needs to be mounted exactly as the instructions state to mount it. If not, you can damage the part. If you look at the instruction sheet, it shows the 2 on top and the 2 on the bottom. Sealent is used to creat a seal for the overload. Be sure and follow the sheet and it should work fine.
