The Oven Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens, designed to accurately measure the oven's internal temperature and communicate it to the control board. This ensures that the oven maintains the desired temperature setting during baking or roasting, providing consistent cooking results.

Causes of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly can include exposure to high temperatures for prolonged periods, affecting the sensor's accuracy, electrical malfunctions like short circuits or wiring issues impacting its performance, and physical damage from cleaning or moving the oven compromising the sensor's integrity.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly include:

  • The oven does not heat to the set temperature
  • Over or undercooking of food
  • Error codes displayed on the oven's control panel

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Hello Connie. Check and see if the noise is coming from the board WP6610456. If so, you will need to replace the board. It is normal for it to click, but not whining.

Hello Keith, The easiest way to explain this is that this is a case of man trying to overcome the laws of science. In attempting to control the temperature inside the bake compartment, the unit has to get hotter than the set temperature and then cool to below the set temperature. For this reason, the bake temperature is not constant but has to average the bake temperature. To check the temperature accurately, the unit has to preheat and then, using a digital temperature meter, record the high temperature and low temperature for at least 3 cycles. When the cycling is complete, add the numbers recorded together and divide by how many numbers you added. This gives you the "average" bake temperature.

Hi - I have a gas oven whirlpool gold accu bake duo. I am getting an E4-F3 code and frequently after oven is on for a few minutes it just shuts off and shows this error code. Last month I replaced the oven sensor assembly as shown in your video: How to Replace Oven Sensor Assembly #W10181986 other information I have seen on the internet says that I may need to replace an OPEN OVEN SENSOR or that there is a LOWER SENSOR that I may need to replace. Would appreciate any feedback you can give about possible problem or necessary part numbers. Thanks

Steven for Model Number Whirlpool SF367LEMB

At times when we are using the oven, the oven will not continue to heat when required. For example with the oven set at 350, the igniter will try to kick on to continue to heat the oven to maintain the temperature of 350. But you hear the igniter click in an attempt to light the oven burner but it does not light. This is not a constant issue. It does not occur on every time we use the oven. I had someone take a look at the oven and they said they believed it was a bad thermostat. On these ovens the computer board starts to go we're it believes the temperature has been met so it will try to kick on but it will shut off. Does this make sense? And I'm wondering if it is just the temperature sensor going bad. Looking for some additional opinions.

Hello Scotto, This can be the sensorWPW10181986. The sensor can be tested with an ohm meter. It should read about 1100 ohms at about 70°F.

John for Model Number 9755701

I could not find a model number that matches anything I find normally. I have a Sears Ultra Bake oven that only heats to about 250. I get the E1 F3 error code when I press the off button for five seconds, this is the recall last code. I checked the heat element and it seems to be reading the correct ohms. I checked the temp sensor and it reads 1080 at room temp but when I heat it up with almost boiling water the reading starts to decrease. It never went below 850 ohms though. I am assuming the sensor is bad since it went the wrong direction. Thank you for your assistance.

John, The model number listed is not a complete model number but based on the reading that you got with the oven sensor it is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Sharon, The F3 error code is caused by an open or shorted oven sensor. You will want to measure the resistance value of the oven sensor which should be approximately 1080 ohms at room temp. If not then the sensor WPW10181986 or wiring is faulty and would need to be replaced.

John, We are showing that the that this is the correct oven sensor WPW10181986 for your unit. If you loosen the wire from the control board down to the sensor, you will want to check for a way to gain 1 " there is not another sensor for this unit.
