The Upper Spray Arm is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is responsible for distributing water throughout the upper part of the dishwasher during the wash cycle, ensuring dishes are cleaned effectively.

Causes of a bad upper spray arm can include clogging from food particles, mineral deposits from hard water, or physical damage to the spray arm. These issues can impede the spray arm's ability to rotate and distribute water properly.

This is a follow up question. I can see that the inner white part is broken off and stuck up in the top of the dishwasher. My questions are 1. How do I remove that broken off stuck part? 2. For replacement do I ONLY need sprayer arm?

The very top spray arm fell off. When I look at the picture for ordering a replacement, I see a white part inside the hole of the gray arm. Mine appears to not have this white part In the arm-it actually looks like that is still stuck in the dishwasher and I don’t know how to remove it. I assume I have a broken arm And need a new one but do I need any other parts? Any idea how to remove what appears to Have broken out of the arm?

Heather, Check the top of the dishwasher for the white part. It could have been stuck on the tube.

I have part #W10327455 GRAYSTONE that has never stayed in place. It looks like there should be a piece that goes through from the top of the upper sparyer arm assembly which should snap into the sparyer arm (part number listed above). I need that small piece. On the part diagram for the above piece it looks like the arm I have is part #2 and the piece I need is part #3. Can you tell me how to order it?

If my upper spray arm has fallen off will the pressure I am loosing keep the other two arms from spinning? no clogs in the system at all, very clean I can hear the water pressure but The arms do not spin thank you

My dishwasher spray arms do not rotate the 3rd level spray arm has fallen of and needs a new one but will that keep the lower two arms from rotating because of not enough pressure i can hear the water coming out strong but they don't rotate so is that the problem before i spend 30 dollars nothing is clogged thank you

Hello David, yes, all the spray arms are required to allow the circulation pump to build up pressure in the water system to be able to rotate the spray arms. If dishwasher does a full water fill, the circulation pump is running with a good flow then likely it is the missing spray arm at this point. Conversely, to be able to check the dishwasher for any other problem, in this case cleaning performance, there cannot be any missing parts of the water system.

I ordered part # AP6019626 to replace the sprayer that kept falling off every cycle. I thought the tabs on the previous sprayer arm may have gotten pushed too far in to hold. After the new one was in a week, it started falling down as well. Is the part you sent me just defective or do I need another part to keep it in my dishwasher?

Karen, If the arm is falling off then the retainer WP3400918may be all that is needed and if the arm has fallen off then you would just put the new retainer in place and push the spray arm on.

Hello Larry. The spray arm WPW10327455 looks to snap into place. Check and see if the tabs on it are broke or if the feed tube is broke inside the unit.
