The Upper Spray Arm is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is responsible for distributing water throughout the upper part of the dishwasher during the wash cycle, ensuring dishes are cleaned effectively.

Causes of a bad upper spray arm can include clogging from food particles, mineral deposits from hard water, or physical damage to the spray arm. These issues can impede the spray arm's ability to rotate and distribute water properly.

Symptoms of a bad upper spray arm include:

  • Poor cleaning performance on the top rack
  • Spray arm not spinning
  • Visible damage or clogging of the spray arm holes

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Note: For the spray arm retainer, use part number WP3400918.

Conversely, to be able to check the dishwasher for any other problem, in this case cleaning performance, there cannot be any missing parts of the water system.
