John September 21, 2015 for Model Number MFI2569YEM2 There seems to be a part that is missing in the diagram. I have replaced the part number 16 but there's also another piece inside the door that needs to be replaced - do you know what the part number is? It's the female piece to the male piece of number 16.
1 Answer John, The "female" portion of the "door closer" assembly is internal to the door, and can't be replaced. You'll need to replace the door assembly, which are not available. Read More...
Paul January 24, 2015 I just replaced the door closer on my ref rig hoping it would fix an issue with the door not closing as easily as it used to. part number: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-closer-12028505ap-ap4364680.html I don't see any difference in behavior. The old closer looked ok but the plastic ridges were a bit worn. Note, the door does not rise when opening and closing - could this be the problem and if so any recommendations? Also, the door used to close with little effort - no longer. I was looking at the stop-door part but I'm doubtful that is the solution. Thanks
1 Answer Paul, To properly assist you we will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...

Ralphdinfl March 11, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool GX5FHTXVY02 The right side refrigerator door rises up as you swing it open and makes a load snapping sound, as you swing. I'm guessing that may be a broken "door stop"? Would you agree, or should I be looking at a hinge problem, as well?
1 Answer Ralph, It's not likely a door stop or hinge problem. It is more likely to be a door closer WP12028505AP issue. The closer is seated on the hinge pin and there is a location pin that inserts into the opening on the hinge to "lock" it in place. If the closer is "dry}, or shifts up the location pin can break off and / or make a snapping noise. Check or replace the closer and lubricate liberally with silicone based grease or "Vaseline" .
