This igniter switch operates the burner lighter so the cooktop sparks and lights a gas burner when you press the lighter control. Replacing a faulty switch restores consistent ignition and reliable burner starting. What it does:

  • Sends the ignition spark to the burner when the lighter/push-button is pressed.
  • Replaces a worn, sticky, or unresponsive lighter switch that prevents consistent sparking.
  • Common symptoms it can address: no spark from the lighter, intermittent sparking, or a button that fails to activate ignition.
  • Interfaces with the existing lighter mechanism and wiring to restore normal ignition function.
What's included: One igniter switch. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (unplug) and shut off the gas supply before starting any work.
  • Access typically requires removing the cooktop or control panel; use appropriate hand tools and keep track of fasteners.
  • Avoid touching electrical contacts and confirm wiring matches the original during reassembly.

Tom for Model Number Magic Chef CGR3760ADW

I'm having trouble to LF and LR burners which are not sparking when the nob is turned to the "LITE" position. It clicks as the spark appears in the RF and RR burners but not the left ones. There is gas coming out of the burners but no spark so no flame. Looking at the burners closely, the ceramic sleeve on one of the spark nodes is slightly broken and has fallen off. As the burners are sealed, it's hard to look close into them. Any suggestions on how to fix the above issues with instructions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hello Tom. You will need to replace the spark module 12001596 and any broke igniters. You will need to remove the burners to change the igniters. To do this, turn the burners clockwise about 1 and 1/2 inch to loosen it. Some minor crunching or grinding sounds will be heard, this is normal. Once removed, you will be able to replace the igniters 74004053. The spark module is mounted on a bracket on the base frame on the back of the range. Hope this helps.

Hello Andrew! Look to see if the burner is sparking. If it is not, you will have a problem with either the ignitor which comes with the burner WP3412D024-09 or the spark module 12001596. Hope this helps!
