Christie January 23, 2013 for Model Number Inglis The other day when doing laundry I pulled out the first load of dry clothes and put another load in to dry and it wouldn't turn on.
1 Answer Hello Christie. You will need to test the thermal fuse and door switch and and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tony December 04, 2012 for Model Number LTE5243DZO whirlpool If thermal fuse blows out what does it look like? My whirlpool works great, but now no heat.
1 Answer Hello Tony. If the thermal fuse blows, the unit will not run. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Joe June 20, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool LTE5243DQ3 Can the thermal fuse AP2947182 fail on its own, or does there have to be an underlying reason?

Joe June 20, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool LTE5243DQ3 My dryer spins but has no heat. Opened it up and was expecting to find a bad element. Much to my surprise this was not the case. I put a multi-meter to the element, thermostat and fuses and the only one that read bad was the thermal fuse. It read infinity. Is this my culprit? The unit otherwise functions normally minus heat.
1 Answer Hello Joe, You are correct. If the thermal fuse WP3399849 opens, the heating circuit cannot operate correctly. Read More...
Carl G. November 04, 2011 for Model Number LTE5243DQ3 I need to replace the thermal fuse but there only seems to be one 12" x 12" access panel on the back of the dryer of the stacked unit and that is not the correct way to get to the fuse it just is access to the 120V wire connections. Do I need to dissemble the whole back or do I get to it from inside the drum or do I have to remove the drum to get to it? Thanks, Carl
1 Answer Hello Carl. You will need to remove the screws around the back panel of the dryer to access and replace the thermal fuse WP3399849. You will need to disconnect the power before working on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
John August 27, 2011 for Model Number roper dryer hello, I blew out the thermal fuse in my dryer. My question is what are the malfunctions that cause this fuse to blow? What does this fuse do? thank you.
1 Answer John, That style fuse, should control the 120 VAC power supply to the motor, if it opens, the motor won't start or run. This style fuse is a heat sensitive device, so you'll need to start searching for a heater problem( clogged exhaust system, dirty lint filter, overload, etc. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
