Pat May 05, 2012 for Model Number MER5752BAW I have ordered bottom trim AP3175203 for oven door. The question & answer of how to remove the oven door does not work for me as there are no "small holes that go all the way through" in the hinges. How can I remove the door? (Maytag model # MER5752BAW)
1 Answer Pat, Based on your parts diagram and User's Manual, your range does not have "locking Hinges" WP74011141. Here's some help from the User's Manual for your style range " To remove: 1. When cool, open the oven door to the first stop position (opened about four inches). 2. Grasp door at each side. Do not use the door handle to lift door. 3. Lift up evenly until door clears hinge arms. To replace: 1. Grasp door at each side. 2. Align slots in the door with the hinge arms on the range. 3. Slide the door down onto the hinge arms until the door is completely seated on the hinges. Push down on the top corners of the door to completely seat door on hinges. Door should not appear crooked." 1 Answer Hello L.toro. Open door fully. Look at the hinge side area's. In the middle there are small holes that go all the way through. Use a screw, nail or pick tool to slide from the inside to the outside and block/lock the hinges. Lift door and as the hinges lock, lift up and pull back as the hinge will come out of the receiver. Once removed, you should be able to access the screws and replace the bottom trim WP8523175. Hope this helps. Read More...
