I have a couple of related questions: The washer will fill with water but will not agitate. The plunger doesn't seem to operate properly. I removed the lid switch. If I hold the switch button manually, I can get the machine to spin and rinse but not agitate. Is this a fault in the switch? The unbalance level and plunger assembly looks like the one pictured (#30 in the drawing). This is part AP4026431. The old switch appears to be the same as part AP4008646 (#15 in the drawing). But I do not see where the plunger that is part of that kit would go. Will parts AP4026431 and AP4008646 work together without the long separate plunger?

1 Answer

Alan, Yes, the parts WP22001969 unbalance switch and the lid switch 12001908 will work for your unit. The plunger is for certain models and may not be necessary on your model.

Where is this lever assembly installed. Is it installed on the door of the top loading washer or do we need to install it by removing the panel assembly. This is a top loading coin operated Maytag washing machine and somehow this part came off the washing machine and was sitting on the table next to the machine. I know a tenant would not have disassembled the panel. How do I reassemble the piece and attach to the washing machine. Because the piece is not on the machine, the machine will now not turn on. Thank you.

1 Answer

Katie, You would have to lift the main top in order to install this lever as it is part of the lid switch assembly.
