William January 22, 2018 for Model Number M1TXEGMYW01 The ice maker creates an icicle at the bottom into the ice bin. obviously, water is dripping from the low end of the ice tray and it forms an icicle. The water tube that supplies the water into the ice tray seems fine (not iced over). Somehow, the ice tray is filling up with too much water, or the tray is leaking at the low end of the mechanism. Or, something else?
1 Answer William, This issue will most likely be caused by a icemaker that is leaking and would be part number 4317943. Read More...
David Goff December 30, 2017 for Model Number mff2055yem00 Ice maker not filling with water, when the water valve cuts on I am only getting about 4-5 oz of water. Fill tube is also freezing up cleaned it out and it froze back up. by passed the filter and still ony get about 4-5 oz water. If I fill ice maker it cycles through and works fine. Tried adjust fill screw tiny white screw did not seem to help. Could the water valve be bad, even though it opens.
1 Answer David, The water valve would be the most likely cause for this issue. It sounds as though the water valve may not be closing all the way allowing the fill tube to freeze due to seeping. Read More...
Rob November 15, 2016 for Model Number M1TXEGMYW01 There is a layer of ice building up on the bottom of the freezer in my Maytag refrigerator. I defrosted the refrigerator and removed the water, shut off the water supply to the icemaker, but it came back, although less. After researching the problem, it seemed that the culprit was a clogged refrigerator drain tube. However, I don't see this part in the diagram on your website for this model. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Rob, You will need to remove the rear panel in the freezer and under the evaporator there is the defrost drain trough. You will need to clean out all the ice and then flush the drain with hot water to clear the obstruction. Read More...
Marlin February 28, 2016 for Model Number WRT5L1SMYF00 I have no water getting to my ice maker. I disconnected the water line going to the ice maker from the solenoid valve and had no water there. Is it as simple as it being a bad inlet valve or could there be something else? There was water to the inlet valve but nothing even going to the filters.
1 Answer Hello Marlin. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
