Jeff August 01, 2016 for Model Number WFG510S0AW0 Hello, my oven will not turn on. I have replaced the ignighter and it does light up. I suspect it is the valve is bad but had a question: the stove and broiler both work and assume that is because they are not regulated on and off by the valve, is this correct? Also, what should the valve read on an ohm meter if good vs bad and should I test it with the oven pluged in or unpluged. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Yes, they are different valves. If you ohm out the safety valve it sounds like it should be bad if the ignitor is new. Read More...

Heather June 16, 2015 for Model Number WFG510S0AS - Whirlpool Gas Range 5.0 cu ft. Is this what I need from my Whirlpool gas range that will not light the oven or broiler? No gas getting in. I have had only 6 mos. Valve-Gas Part Number: AP5781799 Made by: Whirlpool
1 Answer Hello Heather. You can test the gas valve. Check between each solenoid for 216 ohms of resistance. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
