Hello Steve. It sounds like the icemaker is leaking and you will need to replace the icemaker.

Replaced water valve 2206123 with new. Watre out of dispenser but not to ice maker. Tubes not frozen. Ice maker is new also and cycles fine. You mentioned in a previous answer that the wiring may need to be reversed. Is there any literature (hand drawn pictures will work) that shows/explains EXACTLY how this new water valve is supposed to be wired (detailed) and plumbed (detailed). I have searched for videos on this valve but none found that are exact. Thank you

Hello Rick, You may have a harness issue. You will need to force an icemaker cycle by jumping 120Vac from terminals "T" and "H". Near the end of this cycle, you will need to see 120Vac on the wires to the water valve with the 1/4 inch water line that leads to the icemaker. If not, the issue is either a poor connection, a broken wire, or a defect in the icemaker, (new parts can be defective). As a note, this is an ac circuit and reversing the wires will not affect the operation of the water valve solenoid.

Dan, The 2206123 Water Inlet Valve, will have all three solenoids including the isolation solenoid and the brass connector for the water supply line. You'll have everything you need except a razor or sharp blade to trim the end of the water tubes so they seat and lock properly inside the john guess fittings.

Hello Tim. Check and see if any of the water lines are reversed on the water valve and installed in the wrong spot.

Clark for Model Number 59212990

I have installed a new water inlet valve (part #2206123) on the Kenmore Model #59212990. However I still have the same problem, no water coming out of the water dispenser on the door. Before I installed the new valve, I had water going to the ice maker just fine, not sure now. I know that there are two connections for a 1/4 hose and 2 connections for 5/16 line, can you tell me which hose goes where. From the videos that I have watched it looks like the 1/4 hose that comes down the back of the refrigerator goes on the bottom 1/4 connection. Is that correct?

Hello Clark, If your model number is 106.59212990, the 1/4 inch line goes up the back to the icemaker. The most obvious cause of no water is either a frozen water reservoir or a frozen water line in the door. Heat the water reservoir with a hair dryer for about 15 minutes. If this corrects the issue, set the fresh food compartment to a colder setting to increase air circulation so the cold air will not settle to the bottom of the fresh food compartment.

Denny, Since the water valve was replaced and a new filter put in, you will want to check the fill tube coming into the icemaker to ensure that there is no ice build up in it. If this is clear then you will need to check the icemaker module by removing the cover of the icemaker and remove the 3 screws holding the module in place. Once this is done you will need to turn the module over and look for burn marks on the lower right side of the module. If burnt you will want to replace the icemaker and if not then check the wheel of the front of the module to see if the pins in the center are broken. If so then replace the module. There is no reset.

Hello Vanessa. If the noise is coming from the water valve then it is the valve that needs to be replaced.

I'm getting too much water when the ice maker fills up. When I adjust the timer, it doesn't change the length of time it fills. I'm thinking the ice maker is bad but I'm not sure. I've also checked the water inlet valve. How many ohms should water inlet valve #2206123 be pulling? I'm getting. The inlet solenoid is pulling 350, the green solenoid is pulling 175, and the purple is pulling 350. Does this mean the inlet valve is good? The water pressure going into the inlet valve seems to be fine. I've read through research that whenever you get too much water, it is either the ice maker, the water inlet valve, or the pressure coming in.

Sanja, The water tube that goes up the back of the unit would be for the icemaker and if the icemaker has not cycled then it will not have water in it and you not necessarily will see the water running through the tube.
