Fuel filters are created to strain out gas before it reaches the carburetor in lawnmowers and other gardening tools. Located in the fuel line or the fuel tank, it prevents unwanted debris from reaching the carburetor, which can cause engine damage. If the fuel filter is damaged or becomes clogged with material, it no longer offers the same protection to the carburetor. This can lead to difficulty starting the lawnmower and decreased performance. Correcting this issue early can prevent damage that might require a new lawnmower. Maintenance of the lawnmower by adding fuel stabilizer, changing the oil, and replacing the air filter will increase the life of lawn care equioment. Even if no issues are present, the fuel filter should be replaced after about 200 hours of use. Disconnecting the spark plug should be done prior to installing a new fuel filter. This fuel filter is a genuine OEM component directly from the manufacturer and comes as an individual part. It can be used with various Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Murray, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man, and Mastercut lawnmowers, tillers, blowers, and wood chippers.
This is a small engine spark plug positioned in the engine cylinder head. It supplies the spark that will ignite the air-fuel mixture to enable an engine to produce power. This particular spark plug is designed with superior corrosion resistance and dependable performance. Small but mighty, this component allows for increased conductivity and heat control. If the spark plug is damaged or in poor condition, many problems may arise in equipment, including sudden stop while running, overheating, and excessive gas consumption. Replace the spark plug by disconnecting the spark plug wire first, then use a socket driver or wrench to remove the spark plug. Install the new spark plug by turning it by hand initially to avoid cross-threading. If it doesn't twist anymore, use a deep socket wrench or socket driver to tighten the plug until snug. The spark plug can also be used to tune up outdoor power equipment or improve a small engine. This part is recommended to be replaced once per season. This part works with lawn mowers, snowblowers, tillers, leaf blowers, log splitters, wood chippers, and others with small engines. It is compatible with brands such as Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Murray, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man, and MasterCut. This is a genuine OEM part directly from the manufacturer and is sold individually.
This 21-inch deck chute is an OEM-authorized part that is designed for use with select walk-behind push lawn mowers. The deck chute directs the grass clippings that are expelled by the mower blade as they are discharged from the deck. The mower deck cover should be removed and replaced with the chute, as they will not both fit on the hinge at the same time. This chute sees a lot of use and is subject to potential impact with the ground and various obstacles, which makes it prone to damage over time. It can even become detached and need a full replacement. This genuine OEM chute will provide the perfect fit for compatible mowers. This deck chute is manufactured to specific standards by MTD and can work with over 150 machines from RYOBI, Yard-Man, Yard Machines, Troy-Bilt, MTD, Bolens, Husky, and Cub Cadet. Refer to the parts diagram and owner's manual to confirm part number compatibility and location of the chute. This part is made of durable plastic material and is sold as a single unit. Hardware is not included with this part and will require an additional purchase. Always disable the engine before working near the mower blade for safety.
The blade support is found between the blade and the bolt. As its name suggests, it is designed to provide support for the blade to ensure it is secured to the base of the mower deck. It is made of metal and it will need a replacement if it becomes worn or damaged. To replace a blade support or blade spacer, first, the engine needs to be cool. Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug. Tip the mower back on its handle assembly and use a piece of wood or sturdy object to hold the cutting blade in place. Remove the old blade support and blade. When installing the new one, ensure that the blade's sharp edge faces away from the mower deck. Re-thread and torque the bolt between 40 and 50 ft-lbs. This is an original OEM replacement part for lawnmower blade support made by Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Murray, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Bolens, Yard-Man, MasterCut. It is sold individually.
Installing a brand-new air filter keeps the engine in top running condition. When the machine is in operation, the vacuumed air goes through the air filter. Any dirt or dust is left in the filter media. Over time, the filter will become dirty and can no longer provide the same filtering efficiency as before. If left ignored, the tiny particles could clog the engine and the carburetor. You may experience misfires and no engine start-up. An air filter replacement is cheap and easy to do. Simply remove the air cleaner cover and take out the dirty filter. Insert the new filter into the housing. This replacement will take less than 5 minutes. A screwdriver will be needed. The MTD 951-10298 Air Cleaner Kit is a genuine air filter from MTD. Each kit comes with one paper filter and one foam filter. The foam filter can be cleaned with water and detergent. The paper filter, however, needs replacement at least once a year. This air filter kit is compatible with Cub Cadet, PowerMore, and Troy-Bilt. It can also work with other garden equipment like wheel string trimmers, chipper-shredder vacuums, and log splitters.
This blade adapter is made to attach a lawn mower cutting blade to the drive shaft of a push mower. Though it is made of sturdy metal and is tightly fastened to the mower's drive, the adapter and blade may wear and loosen over time. This can present a dangerous situation as well as poor cutting performance for the blade. Also, each adapter has a small insert tab that fits into the blade attachment. This tab, called a “key,” is actually a shear pin. Should the blade strike a solid object, the key will sheer off, preventing the blade from coming loose or suffering irreparable damage. The solution to either of these problems is to replace the blade adapter. The blade itself should be closely examined to make sure it fits the new adapter with no wobble or slack. To replace the blade adapter, turn the mower on its side with the air filter on top. Use a ratchet to remove the bolt that attaches the blade and adapter to the drive shaft. Make certain to fit the new adapter key into the keyway on the shaft. Always use a replacement part like this one, that is OEM certified to be identical to the original. This blade adapter is compatible with Ryobi, Yard Machines, Yard Man, Huskee, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, MTD, and Bolens mowers.
This replacement part is a hex bolt. It is a genuine replacement part made by MTD. Hex bolts are named because they are shaped like a hexagon and are different from the regular circle-shaped bolts. These parts are able to hold other parts secure and in place so that everything can operate as needed. A new hex bolt might be needed if the current ones are damaged in any way. It is possible that these bolts become stripped or lodged in place over time due to normal wear and tear and should be replaced. The repair should be fairly easy, only requiring a screwdriver or pliers if the previous part is stuck. Be sure the engine is completely powered down before beginning this repair. This bolt is sold individually. Be sure to purchase the correct amount as many appliances require more than one. This is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer.
A mulching blade has a unique curved or angled design that allows discharging, bagging, and mulching. If its edges are already dull, it can lead to longer mowing time and frayed and torn grass blades. Mulching blade installation is easy. First, unplug the spark plug wire. Then, position the lawnmower on its side. Get a woodblock, preferably 6 x 2 in size, and put it between the old blade and housing deck. Make sure that the wood will prevent the old blade from moving. Take a socket wrench and remove the blade’s nut and washer. Remove the old blade and put the new mulching blade in. Put the nut and washer back and tighten until it is secured. You can use the woodblock to prevent the replacement blade from moving when it is tightened. This mulching blade replacement s an original MTD product. This OEM mulching blade can be used for MTD, Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Murray, Yard-Man, and Bolens lawnmower models. This brand-new mulching blade is sold individually. The support blade and screw hex are sold separately.
