Roper Compressor & Sealed System

Roper Compressor
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10355489

This is a replacement compressor for refrigerators manufactured by Whirlpool. The compressor plays a critical role in the refrigerator's ability to properly cool and preserve food. It adds heat and pressure to the system, as well as circulating refrigerant through the system. As the heart of the refrigerator, when the compressor fails, the appliance will no longer cool properly. Refrigerator compressors are subject to a great deal of wear and tear, voltage surges, heat, and other factors. Air, moisture, or dust entering the compressor can also cause damage. Signs the compressor may need to be replaced include frequent cycling, infrequent cycling, and failure to cool. This is a genuine OEM replacement part, and it is sold individually. It is compatible with Whirlpool, Amana, Admiral, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Roper, and Kenmore branded refrigerators.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling clicks and buzzes were heard every couple of minutes   Chris P. • Houston , TX • May 03, 2014

Googled the symptoms and realized it was probably the Start Relay. To check, I unplugged the refrigerator, took off the back panel, and pulled the old start relay off. I shook it and it rattled, like something was broken inside. That was the sign that it did indeed need to be replaced. Looked up the part on www.appliancepartpros.com and found it.
