Paul P Seattle , WA February 18, 2019 Appliance: Model NE59J3420SB/AA (0000) Some of the buttons on the membrane pad had stopped working Turn off power to the stove (use either breaker or fuse). Pull stove out from wall to gain access to the back (unplug from outlet). Before removing anything, take pictures and continue to take pictures of each piece before removing any screws, so you have a record of the assembly sequence and screw positions!! Keep screws with each piece that is removed. Remove metal panel on back of stove behind membrane pad. Remove ribbon connector (pull retaining ring out about 2mm to release). Remove plastic holder that circuit board is in (Make note of screw and ground wire positions). (do not remove any other wires. Just let the circuit board hang by the other wires). Remove stamped metal piece that membrane is attached to (Make note of screw positions). Peel membrane pad from stamped metal piece (Be careful!! Metal is sharp!!). The membrane is attached with a 2-sided adhesive tape, so any remaining adhesive will need to be removed with Acetone or other adhesive remover (Wear gloves!! It takes some work to remove!!). Peel backing off of the new membrane pad and reverse process to reassemble.
