Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 240383703
This genuine OEM part is a temperature control thermostat for refrigerators. The temperature control thermostat is the part that regulates and adjusts the temperature settings of the refrigerator. If the refrigerator is no longer maintaining the desired temperature settings, not cooling, or otherwise not operating properly, it will need to be replaced. To replace this part, make sure the refrigerator is unplugged. After unplugging, proceed to open the refrigerator door and remove all the interior shelving. Once removed, proceed to unmount the screws that hold the interior panels in place. Once loosened, remove the panels to access the temperature control thermostat. After locating the part, unthread the mounting screws that secure the thermostat to its housing. After unthreading, pull the old thermostat out and remove the wire harness that it is attached to. Replace it with the new thermostat and proceed to reinstall the interior panels of the refrigerator. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse brand refrigerators.

This is a refrigerator control board. It makes sure all the appliance processes run as expected. It links up with other internal parts to ensure the correct level of cooling. The part is made of durable materials and includes a small display. This offers information to users about the current temperature inside the refrigerator. The screen can crack or internal parts of the control board can become damaged. This can cause the refrigerator to stop cooling or running entirely. If the control board is damaged or not working correctly, it should be replaced. First, access the back of the appliance and unplug it from the wall. Remove the screws that hold on the cover to work with the control board. Make notes about where the wires are connected before removing the board. The new replacement part should have the wires reconnected in the same locations. Replace the cover and turn the power back on.The control board is compatible with several refrigerators made by Frigidaire. It is sold on an individual basis and sourced directly from the manufacturer. This is a genuine OEM replacement component.

Erratic cooling ice buildup in freezer Donald M. • Stover , MO • March 13, 2015
I replaced the Thermostat and Defrost Timer. It was a fairly easy repair other than removing the old Defrost Timer. The way the manufacturer, in this case, Amana, mounts that unit with "clips" is just poor design and engineering. It is virtually impossible to get the timer out without damaging the mounts. I had to do some creative rework to mount the new timer.
After 2 days, the fridge appears to be working properly with these new parts.
