The Icemaker Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for producing ice and dispensing it into the ice bucket within the freezer compartment. It includes the ice mold, motor, and other components that work together to form, freeze, and release ice cubes efficiently.
You should replace this icemaker assembly if it becomes defective. Common causes of a bad icemaker assembly include wear and tear over time, electrical failures, or blockages in the water supply line. Mineral buildup or malfunctioning components can also hinder the ice-making process.
Symptoms of a bad icemaker assembly include:
- No ice production
- Smaller than usual or misshapen ice cubes
- Leaks or water pooling in the freezer
- Unusual noises coming from the icemaker area
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

Ice maker quit working. Lee H. • Cleveland , MN • June 04, 2020
This was easier then I made it. Originally took the actual ice maker out without removing the whole system from the door. There are 3 silver screws that do that hold the whole mechanism in place, as opposed to the 5 white screws that hold the ice maker in place. With the entire assembly out it was a matter of routing the ground wire, retaping the wires, and then the whole assembly went back into the door without a problem. Need a phillips and a flat screwdriver, I also found a needle nose...

Broken ice bucket Larry T. • Yuba City , CA • August 15, 2016
After doing research on broken ice bucket for an LG refrigerator on numerous sites I became totally confused on all the different #s that showed up. Contacted AppliancePartsPros. I was assured they had the part needed. Part arrived perfect match. Took more time removing part from shipping box than installing. Part I ordered is mostly plastic so all the bubble wrap made sure it wasn't broken in transient. If I need to order more parts this is the go to site. Larry

The water and ice dispenser on my 20 yr old GE monogram refrigerator stopped working. Jay S. • North Hollywood , CA • April 27, 2021
The housing shield had cracked, which caused the dispenser level from reliably pivoting and triggering the switch so replacing that caused the dispenser switch and hinge assembly to work reliably once again. Also, the ice-flapper would frequently stay open causing the ice shoot to frost up and get clogged, so replacing the ice dispenser solenoid fixed that problem as well. My cover collar had fallen several times and cracked and attempts to glue it did not work, so I ordered another one of...
