This pressure switch is a replaceable pressure-sensing control that tells the appliance when system pressure has reached a set level so the unit can advance through cycles correctly. Installing a working switch restores reliable pressure-based control. What it does:
- Senses system air/water pressure and sends a signal to the control board
- Helps the appliance detect fill, drain or airflow conditions used to advance cycles
- Common symptom: appliance shows pressure or fill-related errors or fails to progress through cycles
- Can correct intermittent or no-response behavior when the original switch is faulty

Pressure switch for water level selection broken on washer Brandon S. • Bowdon , GA • June 18, 2018
First I unplugged the power cord for the washer. I removed the back plate of the control panel. Then removed the knob and unscrewed the screw holding the broken pressure switch. I then swapped the three electrical cables one at a time and placed on the new pressure switch. Then I put the screw in to hold the switch in place. I replaced the knob, plugged in the washer and turned it on. The appliance immediately worked.
