Water inlet temperature sensor.
Made by Whirlpool. This valve is commonly used on detergent dispensing washer models made by Whirlpool/Kenmore.
Very simple. Removed 2 screws and lifted the control section. The from panel the was pulled out slightly. The water inlet valve was exposed and removed after disconnecting the hoses and 2 screws. I actually followed the direction on the Kenmore repair clinic on youtube!!!!! Read more

Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more

Part number 3949428 dial from appliance pros came in 2 days. Needed in three days as I was traveling to my vacation home. Previous occupant called me and let me know the washer was not working and described the problem. He sent picture in a text of the dial and model number. I diagnosed from description of problem: knob would pull inandout but dial would not select. Repair took less than 2 minutes knob unscrews and dial snaps off .
