I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum. After ordering a new belt, extra screw that was lost while disassembling the dryer, and some high temperature lubricant for the drum ball and socket the dryer now runs as well as it did when it was new. My oven door hinges both broke. The metal on the frame of the oven bent and tore, eventually the hinge metal broke too since it was out of alignment. I bought two replacement hinges with good metal (remember to get one left hinge and one right hinge-the description doesn't clarify that and they look nearly identical).
