The Interlock Door Switch is an OEM part for LG microwaves. It is a safety component located on the door of the microwave designed to prevent the microwave from operating unless the door is securely closed. The interlock door switch works with the microwave's electronic control board to sense when the door is open or closed and allow or disallow operation accordingly. Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Very easy repair, conveniently there is a hatch on the bottom of my microwave that provides access to the turntable motor. You have to cut this hatch out of the bottom with a pair of wire cutters. Then you just remove the plug on the motor, the two screws and it will come right out.
