I replaced the worn parts. Removed the electric motor/pump assembly then took it to my motorcycle repair shop to clean/maintenance the motor, remove the old pump because it was stuck on the motor shaft. Once removed I blew out dust/debris from the motor w/compressed air. Sanded and filed the corrosion off the shaft, applied a "sealing grease" of sorts to the shaft to make potential future removal easier and reassembled. I replaced the friction ring, counter balance spring and all six of the tub rings. Though not a terribly difficult repair it was time consuming as the cabinet had to come completely off to access the rear of the tub. Once all of the springs were removed it was easy to slide the tub to the side, tip it and remove the old ring. Replacing it was just as easy. Attaches directly to the motor.
My wife found soapy water on the floor of the laundry room. I removed the front access cover on the washer and found water in the bottom of the washer and seeping our the drain holes. Running a rinse and spin cycle showed water leaking out of the pump all the time there was water in the tub. I ordered this pump and after watching a youtube video of someone else doing it had no trouble installing it. Problem fixed. You do need a torx head screw driver T20 or T25 to remove the pump from the motor. Read more
