I had to remove all of the components from one unit over to another. Since I cut the back of the dishwashers tub and the upper spray arm tube with a demo tool at the beginning of the project I figured I could fix it. In order to replace this, every single component had to be removed from the old unit to the new one, it took about an hour for the work to be completed & fairly simple to do. We took off the front door cover and found that the vent had failed some time ago- the flap was frozen open, the motor did not work. We removed the three screws and the vent came of- putting the new one back was just that simple except that I had to remove the protective paper from the adhesive covered gasket around the surface of vent.
