Black access panel installs on the lower front of your dishwasher, just below the door and above the toe kick. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing.
I carefully removed the insulation and metallic trim from the original part using a small knife. I wraped the insulation with Glad Press'n Seal plastic wrap and attached it to the inside of the new part with double sided tape. I attached the metallic trim to the new part with super glue and then attached the Access Panel to the lower front of the dish washer. It took about 30 minutes to do the job but it was not difficult. Fix dishwasher overfilling or not filling with water by replacing the float assembly. Common issue with sticky buildup preventing proper operation.
I cleaned all the jet nozzles with a toothpick and a pipe cleaner to remove the hard water deposits. I then replace the ring bearing under the bottom spray wand and the ring bearing under the upper spray wand. I also replaced the smaller radial ring bearing. If your dishwasher door drops or won't stay open, the door spring likely needs replacement. Requires pulling the unit out. Takes 30 minutes typically.
I ordered the parts, deciding that if one spring had broken, the other one should probably be replaced at the same time. I followed the suggestion of ordering the door spring bearing given on the ordering page, and since I had not yet pulled out the dishwasher, did not know that it was not used in this older model.
