First replaced start capacitor but that did not work, the start kit which has a relay and overload protector is what was needed. The relay is actually the only part that was bad I believe. After pulling the relay off the compressor you could shake it and it rattled, the new one did not. Really pretty easy and definitely cheaper than a service call. Read more

I defrosted the freezer and replaced the defrost temperature switch on the cooling coils. I cut the wires and used two small wire nuts to complete the splices. I defrosted the freezer with a hair dryer, but you have to careful not to melt the thin plastic walls and bottom of the freezer. You only need a nut driver, wire cutter, and wire stripper and two small wire nuts, (not supplied with part). Read more
Sears no longer supported our refrigerator model, so I called Appliances Pros. I spoke with a young lady, she took the model number and description of the part we lost. It was actually 2 parts that screwed together, she alerted me to this fact. She guided me, on my computer, to the right parts. She was very efficient and in less than a a minute had located both parts. I purchased the parts, which took about a week or so to arrive.
