Our washing machine door boot seal was getting moldy and causing odor problems. Cleaning tablets and bleach weren't helping so it was time to be replaced. While I had the top and front off I changed all the hoses that could be collecting soap scum and mold, all other wetted parts were removed and washed. Replaced soap dispenser and dispenser drawer. Also, dispenser is a re-designed part having an extra spring loaded push rod that interferes with older drawers. This was removed from the back of the dispenser to make my older model work as designed. (Drawer would not stay closed if left in place). The phone staff was excellent at resolving incompatibility of drawer with newer dispenser. Read more
My washer would beep nine times then pause for a few seconds then beep again. To remedy this before ordering a new control board, I had to remove the top cover of the washer, keep the power on and heat the control board with a hair dryer. Once the board was nice and hot, I would unplug the washer and plug it back in. This allowed the error code to be removed and the beeping to stop to where I could use the washer. I believe the shock absorbers were bad and caused too much stress on the spring, breaking it. I replaced the spring, spring protector, and shock absorbers. I got lucky; when I got the drum back up where it belonged I saw that the door boot seal straightened itself back out and wasn’t damaged so I didn’t have to replace it. The whole job took about three hours and the washing machine runs more smoothly now than it did when it was new! Read more
