Simply took out old that was falling apart and pushed in the new one. Because it was packaged bent in two places, it didn't fit as snugly in one section as it should, the bend wouldn't totally straighten, but hoping it's OK. Read more

The square shaft was broken off in the recessed hole of the freezer door lock and would not allow the key to engage it to turn and lock the freezer door. R and R of door lock assy was necessary but not easy-it was accessed through a 1/2" X 1.5" slot in the inner ledge of the door that the hook from the lock protruded through to lock the door.
