Replaced connector. The job took about 1 hour, most of which was spent getting the machine out from under the counter. Replacing the actual part did not take long at all.

This float dome positions and protects the float inside the tub so the appliance can sense water level correctly. Replacing a cracked or missing float dome helps restore reliable fill control and reduces overfill or erratic fill symptoms. What it does
- Houses and guides the float so the fill sensor detects water level accurately.
- Prevents the float from sticking or catching on the tub, which can cause overfilling.
- Helps stop intermittent or continuous fill problems caused by a broken or displaced float.
- Keeps debris away from the float area to reduce false water-level readings.
What's included One float dome. Install notes
- Disconnect power and water supply before accessing the tub or removing panels.
- Remove the lower access panel or kickplate to reach the float area; handle plastic parts gently to avoid cracking.
- Inspect surrounding seals and the float itself; replace any damaged components for reliable operation.
- After installation, restore power and run a short fill/drain cycle to verify correct float movement and water-level control.

Dishwasher was making loud noises from the bottom when running Alan R. • Rochester , NY • June 30, 2018
I replaced the pump and motor assembly. I also proactively replaced the fill hose while I had the dishwasher out since it was decades old.
GE now only sells a generic kit. There were about 7 different sets of directions for different groups of models, and myriad adapters and other parts to support all of them. I wish GE had provided a way of looking up which instructions to use based on model # as that would have saved me a lot of trouble sorting out the instructions, but I didn't find one....

The dishwasher would not drain sometimes Thomas W. • Oceanside , CA • October 02, 2016
I replaced the pump drain assembly. The flapper valve was included in the assembly, so I did not need to order that. On previous repairs, the old drain hose was tricky to reinstall, so I replaced it and the hose clamp. The silverware basket had holes in the bottom and required replacement. I had some broken tine clips.

The metal split apart at the right hinge (bottom right hand corner) leaving only the door liner holding it up putting stress splits in the liner Robert H. • Las Vegas , NV • May 10, 2016
I had to replace the outer door panel, the metal part of the door, bottom 3/4 that attaches to the controls panel.
The hardest part was removing the screws in the hinge, since you need gorilla strength to pull it downward while removing the mounting screws that connect the door to the hinge. The metal was broken completely, so the hinge was in the closed position.
I used a regular phillips screwdriver and a newer version of a cross between a phillips and an allen wrench. It's got a hexagon...
