Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Repair job with AppliancePartsPros parts from outlet of water control valve went perfectly well, was simple, and had no leaks when tested. Parts were easy to install,... Read more
This evaporator fan motor dust cap is an authentic OEM replacement part found on refrigerator and freezer fan motors. This dust cap prevents the fan motor bearing and housing from being damaged by dirt and debris. If the dust cap is cracked or broken, the fan may make loud squealing noises. If the dust cap is not removed and replaced, the fan could stop working and ultimately cause the refrigerator's temperature to be affected. To start, disconnect the power and water to the refrigerator. Remove food from the freezer so that the back panel of the freezer can be accessed to reach the fan. Remove the ice maker and set it outside the freezer. Disconnect the fan and take it out of the freezer to expose the fan's shaft and the dust cover. Pry the dust cover off and install the new one. Replace the fan and cover. Reconnect the wires and reinstall the icemaker. Put the food back in the freezer. Reconnect the power and water. The evaporator fan motor dust cap is a white plastic part that is sold individually. This dust cover is made for use in refrigerators manufactured by General Electric, Hotpoint, and Kenmore.

The Screw is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It serves a crucial function in securing and allowing smooth operation of the refrigerator's drawer rollers.
Causes of a bad or missing screw can include accidental loss during repair or maintenance, stripping of the screw threads due to overtightening, or general wear and tear over time.
Symptoms of a loose or screw include:
Used the schematic provided to select the parts needing replacement and placed the order. Parts arrived and swapping new for old was simple. For the most part it was a matter of taking out the old and putting in the new. There were a few screws with wheels to replace but that was easy as well. Before purchase I searched several different sites and found all the parts needed. I compared prices of each item as well as shipping cost. Prices for each item were nearly identical between sites... The Heater Defrost Assembly is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This part melts any frost or ice that accumulates on the evaporator coils, ensuring efficient cooling and preventing frost buildup that can impede airflow.
Causes of a bad heater defrost assembly can include electrical failures, wear and tear over time, or damage from fluctuating temperatures.
Symptoms of a bad heater defrost assembly include:
Isolated the problem to extreme frost build up on the evaporator coils. I measured an open circuit on the defrost heater/thermostat, so I ordered both. Following the procedure in the GE service manual for this refrigerator, I gained access to the evaporator in the back of the freezer section, and I replaced the both heater element and the defrost thermostat. Refrigerator cools fine now. The most unexpected thing was how quickly the parts came. They arrived at my front door 18 hours after... Read more

Symptoms of a bad control board assembly include:
Purchased the part that I needed and it fixed the problem like a champ... Read more
The Temperature Sensor Grille is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This grille covers and protects the temperature sensor, ensuring it accurately measures the internal temperature of the refrigerator.
Causes of a bad grille can include physical damage from impacts, regular wear and tear, or the buildup of dust and debris that can obstruct airflow.
Symptoms of a bad temperature sensor grille include:
Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. All five thermistors indicated ok on diagnostic also, but I read more than one time "replace the thermistors no matter what if your FF section isn't cooling". So I ordered all five thermistors and defrost limiter thermostat. Received all in 48 hours (great shipping service), took me about three hours to replace all thermistors and thermostat just as... This fan-mount grommet fits the evaporator or condenser fan assembly to isolate vibration and keep the motor aligned. Replacing a worn grommet can quiet rattles and prevent the fan blade from rubbing the housing. What it does:
Condenser fan stopped on my big 2003 Monogram 4 foot wide ZIS480D Refrigerator. It is top mounted. The fridge had to be rolled out. 20 screws removed and the top sheet metal to get at the condenser. That was the only way to get at it. Works like new now. Read more
Restore a tight seal and stable temperatures with this refrigerator door gasket. Replacing a worn gasket helps keep cold air in and humid air out to reduce frost, condensation, and unnecessary energy use.
The Water Filter Housing and Tube Assembly is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for securely holding the water filter in place while directing water through the filter and into the dispenser or ice maker. Approximate dimensions: 18" x 14.7" x 3.3"
Over time, the water filter housing and tube assembly can become damaged due to regular use, exposure to high water pressure, or mineral deposits building up inside the tubes. Such damage may lead to leaks or reduced water flow, affecting the performance of the refrigerator's water and ice systems.
Symptoms of a faulty water filter housing and tube assembly include:
I ordered a filter housing, some plastic tubes to replace the leaking one and en extra connector which came really handy. I followed the videos and replaced parts pretty easily. It could have been done in as little as 15 minutes. But I started getting leaks and took me a while to play with water lines and changing connectors to stop the leak. Then I had to test it a few times to make sure it won't leak again. Read more
