The auger motor failed and wouldn't turn. I replaced the motor and it works without a problem. Make sure you dont throw away the motor boot or buy one if you don't have one. Otherwise, the temperature will freeze up the motor and lead to premature failure. Read more

There was no repair video for this fix so I had to figure it out myself. I removed all the shelves out of the refrigerator, then the light cover. The air vent cover lifts up and out from the bottom(reason why I removed all shelving. Then I took out the broken dial pan chill which just snaps in to the control arm. The short... Our GE refrigerator has a dual evaporator. Which means there is an evaporator in both the freezer and the refrigerator. Since the compressor was still working, I guessed that either the interior fan was bad or the main control board. Since fans are usually very reliable, I decided to replaced the main control board. Immediately after replacing the board, the refrigerator began working normally. Thank goodness that solved the problem because replacing the board is much easier that replacing the fan on my refrigerator. Read more
